PTO

Parent organizations such as PTOs and PTAs play a vital role in supporting the Houston Independent School District’s (HISD) mission to empower students as critical thinkers, visionary leaders, and active community contributors. By fostering strong partnerships between families, educators, and school staff, these organizations help create enriching educational environments that encourage student growth and success. Through volunteer support, fundraising, and organizing programs that extend learning beyond the classroom, PTOs and PTAs directly contribute to HISD’s goal of preparing students for limitless opportunities in a competitive global landscape.

Although parent organizations like PTOs and PTAs operate as separate entities, it is essential for them to work closely with school principals and follow district guidelines to ensure the school’s goals, policies, and educational standards. Collaboration with the district and principal promotes clear communication, builds trust, and ensures that all activities and funds directly support student success in a way that complements the school's priorities. Adhering to district guidelines also helps maintain transparency, accountability, and legal compliance, protecting both the school and the parent organization. Ultimately, this partnership creates a cohesive support system that strengthens the overall educational experience for students.

Currently, Franklin Elementary does not have an established PTO or PTA. However, we are fortunate to have a dedicated group of parent volunteers who consistently support our school and care for the well-being of our staff, students, and community.

We are always seeking more volunteers to help us create new opportunities and work toward establishing a PTO/PTA for our school. Join us in finding ways to reach higher every day!
